FLY FISHING CLASSES. In our Fly Fishing classes we cover all the basics of fly fishing, including equipment, 'bugology', casting, flies, knot tying, reading the water, fly presentation, and more. There is a general class fee of $95; $50 for youth. Additional family members can sign up for $70. We hold both weeknight and weekend classes. A given class will be firmed up once we have 4 people signed up. If you are interested contact us; E-mail (hisifly@iwvisp.com) or call us at 760-375-1126.

FLY TYING CLASS. Our Fly Tying classes are structured for beginners but can be a good way of brushing up on basic skills. We work on techniques starting out with some simple nymph patterns then step into terrestrials, streamers, and wrap up with some dries. Tools are proved at no cost. Material packages can be purchased at around $50. There is a general class fee of $95; $50 for youth. Additional family members can sign up for $70. Dates are set up for either weeknight or weekend classes. Contact us to sign up or for additional information. Once we have 4 people signed up we will firm up a class.

At one of our Fly Fishing Classes one of our students asked about some kind of follow-up session after they have had some time to practice what they have learned. (We scheduled a Saturday session but received no response.) If you are interested in such a session please let us know and we will try again. We are conducting Saturday series covering fly tying demonstrations, fly tying practice, knot tying, and fish stories.

ROD BUILDING CLASS. These classes usually start on a Friday and runs through Saturday and Sunday. If you can make 2 of the 3 days you will be in good shape to finish the rod on your own. The class is structured for the beginning rod builder. We try to be very methodical in our instruction. The minimum class size is 3 students. The maximum number is 6. There is a general class fee of $95; $50 for youth. Additional family members can sign up for $70. Contact us with any questions or to sign up. You need to have your components together prior to the start of a class.

Our classes are conducted in conjunction with the local fly fishing club, The Aguabonita Flyfishers. They provide most of the equipment therefore helping to keep our costs down. The basic cost of the classes is $95. For youth the fee is $50. Additional members of the family can take the class for $70. The cost is reduced if you are already a member of the Aguabonita Flyfishers. The club also arranges outings for club members. These include instruction and any help desired to put into practice what has been covered in the classes.

Individual instruction can also be arranged if our class schedule does not meet your needs.

If you would like to indicate your interest in any of these classes e-mail us at hisifly@iwvisp.com. or call us at (760) 375-1126.

We conduct casting instruction on an individual or small group basis. These are done at mutually agreeable times. The cost is $15 for a 45 minute session. Chuck is an FFF certified casting instructor.
